2025/26 Coaching Team

John Child John Child is a 3-time Olympian in beach volleyball, representing Canada at the Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, and Athens 2004 Olympic Games. He earned a historic Bronze Medal at the 1996 Atlanta Games, helping put Canadian beach volleyball on the international map.

Founders Vision

John Child - Technical Director

Over a 15-year professional beach volleyball career, John competed at the highest levels around the world. He also brings a strong indoor volleyball background, giving him a well-rounded perspective on athlete development.

Today, John is deeply committed to developing the next generation of athletes through Leaside Volleyball Club. He has coached players at every stage-from young beginners discovering the sport, to athletes advancing into post-secondary programs, professional careers, and even aspiring Olympians. His experience, leadership, and passion for the game continue to shape athletes both on and off the court.
