Discover London’s Best Hands-On Clay Experience

Our Clay Nights are the perfect way to spend an evening with a partner, friend or family member while trying your hand at the potter’s wheel! This lighthearted, hands-on experience is all about fun, creativity, and a little bit of mess.

Your night begins with an entertaining wheel demonstration from your instructor, then you will jump in and give it a try yourself. With guidance along the way and plenty of encouragement, you are guaranteed a night full of laughter, creativity, and good vibes.

While this experience is focused on the process rather than the final product, you definitely will not leave empty-handed! At the end of the evening, each participant will choose a handmade pottery item—such as a cup, bowl, or vessel—from our special “Gift Shelf” to take home and enjoy. Interested in creating pieces you can keep?

Discover London’s Best Hands-On Clay Experience

This 4-week course is perfect for anyone interested in learning the potter’s wheel - whether you are a complete beginner or have some prior experience. Each 3-hour class is designed to help you build skills, confidence, and your own approach to working with clay.

Classes are typically scheduled at the same time on the same day each week, and participants attend one consistent session for the duration of the course. If you have a variable schedule, please email us in advance. We are happy to accommodate where possible! When space allows, you may attend different weekly sessions based on availability rather than committing to the same time each week.

Participants will be guided through the fundamentals of wheel throwing, including centering, opening, widening and shaping of forms. As the course progresses, you will refine your work through trimming, handle attachment, surface decoration, refinement, and glazing.

Many participants choose to take this class more than once as they build their skills before moving on to intermediate-level courses.

Session Breakdown

  • Week 1 & 2: Throwing
  • Week 3: Trimming, handles, detailing
  • Week 4: Glazing

You will work with approximately 13 ounces of clay at a time—an ideal amount for learning and practice.

Unlimited practice clay and all tools are included. Please bring your own towel and apron.

Participants may keep up to 12 finished pieces. All work will be kiln-fired and is microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe. Pieces will be ready for pickup approximately 4 weeks after the course ends.

Policies

  • One make-up class is available per session. Please email us within 48 hours of a missed class to arrange. Depending on availability, make-up classes may be completed during another scheduled class at no additional charge, or arranged outside of regular class times for a fee of $40 + HST.

  • 60% refund available for cancellations made more than 7 days in advance

Discover London’s Best Hands-On Clay Experience

This 4-week course is for students who are comfortable with the basics of wheel throwing—centering, opening, widening, and pulling clay—and want to develop their skills further. Most students find that completing two Wheel Throwing Foundations classes before this course helps them get the most out of the experience.

Each 3-hour class guides you in refining your technique and exploring more advanced skills and forms. Later in the session, you will focus on trimming, adding handles, surface decoration, and glazing your work.

Depending on the size and complexity of your projects, you can expect to bring home up to 10 finished pieces, all kiln-fired and microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe.

Unlimited practice clay and all tools are included. Please bring your own towel and apron.
