Adult Pottery Classes
Get hands-on with clay and build your skills in our 4-week adult pottery classes
Wheel Throwing Foundations
Whether you are new to clay or have some experience, everyone is welcome
This 4-week course is perfect for anyone interested in learning the potter’s wheel - whether you are a complete beginner or have some prior experience. Each 3-hour class is designed to help you build skills, confidence, and your own approach to working with clay.
Classes are typically scheduled at the same time on the same day each week, and participants attend one consistent session for the duration of the course. If you have a variable schedule, please email us in advance. We are happy to accommodate where possible! When space allows, you may attend different weekly sessions based on availability rather than committing to the same time each week.
Participants will be guided through the fundamentals of wheel throwing, including centering, opening, widening and shaping of forms. As the course progresses, you will refine your work through trimming, handle attachment, surface decoration, refinement, and glazing.
Many participants choose to take this class more than once as they build their skills before moving on to intermediate-level courses.
Session Breakdown
- Week 1 & 2: Throwing
- Week 3: Trimming, handles, detailing
- Week 4: Glazing
You will work with approximately 13 ounces of clay at a time—an ideal amount for learning and practice.
Unlimited practice clay and all tools are included. Please bring your own towel and apron.
Participants may keep up to 12 finished pieces. All work will be kiln-fired and is microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe. Pieces will be ready for pickup approximately 4 weeks after the course ends.
One make-up class is available per session. Please email us within 48 hours of a missed class to arrange. Depending on availability, make-up classes may be completed during another scheduled class at no additional charge, or arranged outside of regular class times for a fee of $50 + HST.

Each 3-hour class guides you in refining your technique and exploring more advanced skills and forms. Later in the session, you will focus on trimming, adding handles, surface decoration, and glazing your work.
Depending on the size and complexity of your projects, you can expect to bring home up to 10 finished pieces, all kiln-fired and microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe.
Unlimited practice clay and all tools are included. Please bring your own towel and apron.

Discover London’s Best Hands-On Clay Experience
Bring family, friends, or colleagues together for a fun, hands-on clay experience at our studio on 787 Adelaide Street N. Private events are a great way to explore pottery, try the wheel, or enjoy a creative outing in a relaxed, supportive environment.
We offer three private pottery experiences, so you can choose the option that best suits your group:
Wheel Experience — $60 + HST per person
Minimum 6 people or $360 + HST | Maximum 30 people | 1.5 hours
Your experience kicks off with an entertaining wheel demonstration. With guidance from your instructor and encouragement from your group, everyone will have the opportunity to get their hands on the pottery wheel and spend the event attempting to create a masterpiece.
Expect plenty of laughter, shenanigans and creativity along the way!
At the end of the event, each participant will choose a pottery gift to take home and enjoy — a cup, bowl or other vessel made by our studio staff. (See example image below.) The pieces made during this experience are part of the fun of the evening but are not kept by participants.
Deposit: A $360 + HST non-refundable deposit is required to hold your date and time. This can be paid by phone with a credit card or by e-transfer to this email address. If the deposit is not received within 24 hours, your time slot may be offered to another group.
Wheel Experience + Keep Your Masterpiece(s) — $100 + HST per person
Minimum 10 people or $1000 + HST | Maximum 30 people | 2 hours
Want to make and keep your own masterpieces? Choose our full wheel experience.
Participants will have the opportunity to work on the pottery wheel with a private clay guide. Unlimited clay is provided, and each participant can keep up to 2 pots they make during the event.
We’ll finish and glaze your masterpieces for you, with a choice of three colours. We’ll email you when your pieces are ready for collection, approximately 4 weeks after your event.
Deposit: A $500 + HST non-refundable deposit is required to hold your date and time. This can be paid by phone with a credit card or by e-transfer to this email address. If the deposit is not received within 24 hours, your time slot may be offered to another group.
Handbuilding Project — $100 + HST per person
Minimum 10 people or $1000 + HST | Maximum 20 people | 2 hours
Have a specific pottery project in mind for your group? A handbuilding event is a great option for groups who want to work together on a particular project that can be challenging to create on the pottery wheel, especially for beginners.
With guidance from your instructor, everyone will learn the techniques needed to create the chosen project. Projects are designed around a medium-sized piece, such as a mug, bowl, planter or similar vessel. Your group chooses the project in advance, and everyone will make their own version.
Each participant will make and keep one finished piece. We’ll finish and glaze your creations for you, with a choice of three colours, and email you when your pieces are ready for collection, approximately 4 weeks after your event.
